WHO IS KRISSY?

I am Krissy (Christine Timms).

 

I grew up in West Wollongong and went to Smith’s Hill Girls’ High. After school I moved to Sydney to study. Once I started my teaching career, I bought my first Old English Sheepdog, ‘Boots’, who features in the footer.

 

From 1973 I lived in Sydney where my leisure and pleasure revolved around Old English Sheepdogs… showing, obedience, breeding, running clubs and shows, lecturing, stewarding and judging.

 

I moved back to the Illawarra to live in 2007 and here I am …          Picking Up Your Poo!

 

My Background and Experience in the World of Pure Bred Dogs

 

• Member of  ‘Dogs NSW’ since 1976

• Australian National Kennel Council – accredited Assessor for Judges’ Training

• Australian National Kennel Council – conformation judge since 1987

• Qualified to judge Old English Sheepdogs, Toys, Terriers, Working and Non-Sporting dogs

• Have undertaken regular judging appointments at All Breeds shows in all Australian states and ACT, New Zealand, Wales UK, Scotland UK - with Old English Sheepdog specialties in New South Wales, South Australia, Western Australia, Wales (UK) and New Zealand

• ‘Judging Diploma’ from Canine Studies Institute (UK) & Canine Evaluators Assoc (Aus)

• Life Member of The Old English Sheepdog Club (NSW)

• Extensive experience in exhibiting, obedience, running shows, events and clubs, dogs (Old English Sheepdogs, Irish Water Spaniel) lecturing, stewarding, judging, breeding, grooming and of course the care of numerous dogs I have continuously owned and assisted

• Lecturer and founding Committee member of the inaugural years of ‘Dogs NSW’ General Education Scheme.

• Lecturer and instructor for the Judges’ Training Scheme

• Breed assessor in the years during the recovery and re-development of the Australian Stumpy Tail Cattle Dog

• Championship and Obedience titles gained with various dogs

• Executive positions in all clubs including President, Secretary, Show Secretary/Manager etc – Old English Sheepdog Club, Australian Dog Breeds Assoc., Illawarra Collie and Shetland Sheepdog Club, Sutherland Shire All Breeds Kennel Club, Bulli & Districts Kennel Club and Albion Park Kennel Club. Organiser – Working Breeds Obedience Match

• Member of various demonstration show handling and obedience teams

• Education of owners and aspiring judges – lectures available on practical dog anatomy, exhibiting in the show ring, breed lectures on Old English Sheepdogs et al.

• Conformation steward since 1984 and former Junior Handler judge

• Breeder/exhibitor of Old English Sheepdogs

• Owner/exhibitor of Irish Water Spaniels

• Currently Owner/Operator of the Illawarra’s Dog & Pet Services business ‘No Poo for You’
